HSTA Institute Week detailed schedules listed with workshop, vendor info; Win iPads, other prizes!

Institute Day events at HSTA chapters across the state will feature important news about how your union can help you succeed inside and outside the classroom. Financial planning and retirement workshops, along with college loan forgiveness and PD/pay reclassification seminars will be offered in many chapters, along with tips for effective messaging, how to write and submit testimony and how to make your social media content more fun and inviting. (See the program/workshop link below for each chapter for detailed seminar descriptions, presenter names, locations, etc.)

The Institute theme this year is “You are the union!” Many chapters will hear the keynote speech from Joan Husted, a founding member of HSTA and our first negotiations chair to talk about the many victories HSTA has won over the years. Participants are eligible to win iPads and other teacher tools from HSTA. Some chapters will also award door prizes. Mark your calendar for Teacher Institute Day on your island next week, Feb, 12 - 17. As a professional day, it is a work day and teacher attendance is expected. It’s your professional obligation to be there!
