2014 HSTA-Community Summer Internship Program

The 2014 Summer Internship Program supports and enhances the professional roles of teachers by providing teachers with an orientation of today’s 21st century workforce. The internship
also focuses on the essential skills/competencies that students will need to possess in order to be successful in college, workplace and citizenship in this ever-evolving 21st century. The
program starts with an orientation, teachers then spend three days as an intern for a local business, wrapping up with portfolio writing. An example of businesses that have participated
include Outrigger, Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Clear Chanel, and Hawaiian Airlines.

NOTE: This course provides 3 PD credits that can be used towards teacher reclassification.
