4th of July events for OAHU friends of education

WHAT: KAILUA 4TH OF JULY PARADE - 68th Annual Independence Day Parade
WHEN: THIS FRIDAY!!
TIME: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
IMPORTANT LOGISTICS and parking details:
Ige Campaign position is #95 (of 103).
-Staging location is at the end of North Kainalu, the Marine base end of town by Kainalu Elementary School.
-7 a.m. Gates open at Kailua Intermediate School—not to be confused with Kailua Elementary School on the opposite side of the park by the library.
-Shuttle bus to parade staging area begins.
-Parking is limited. Street parking is suggested.
9:15 a.m. Last shuttle bus.
9:00 a.m. PARADE PARTICIPANTS MUST MUST BE IN PLACE BY 9 a.m.
10:00 a.m. Parade Begins
1:00 p.m. School parking lot closes. Delinquent cars might be towed.
-Street captains will be wearing light blue parade T-shirts. Lions Club members will also assist.
-The parade theme is “We Salute Kailua” to honor the military and “wounded warriors.” Please cheer on our veterans!
-For security reasons the entire parade roster is not available to us.
FOR HSTA MEMBERS AND RETIREES:
Join Mark Takai on the 4th of July to celebrate his birthday by giving back to the community:
The Takai Team will clean up Blaisdell Park and the Pearl Harbor Bike Path, followed by a BBQ Pot Luck.
The Team will bring savory meat, but we ask if you can bring something to share.
