Our members are democrats, republicans, independents, green party members, and affiliated with other groups. It doesn’t matter. Every education and personal decision is determined by elected leaders from class resources and class size to taxes and home ownership issues. We encourage you colleague to colleague to have a say by registering to vote.
Support friends of education.
The future of public education in Hawaii is in the hands of our elected officials. The average teacher is focused on the students in their classroom. Getting involved in political action does not come naturally and it tests teachers’ comfort zones. However, when we elect candidates who support teachers and public education we have a better chance of improving student learning and helping all children in Hawaii maximize their potential. Find out more about why every education decision is a political decision and HSTA’s recommended candidates by watching President Wil Okabe’s video message on VIMEO at http://vimeo.com/87244543
