The Hawaii Education Association (HEA) is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization governed by its members. HEA’s focus is to strengthen and support quality education for all through the enrichment and growth of future, current, and retired educators, as well as through acknowledgement of their contribution to the community.

HEA welcomes as members public and private school teachers, university and college personnel, educational administrators, retirees, and friends of education from all sectors of our local and national communities.  Annual membership dues for Active and Retired members are only $16 (for qualifying payroll or pension deductions), or $18 if paying by cash.  Associate members dues are $18.

HEA’s year-round activities include the award of scholarships, professional development programs for teachers, and programs designed to encourage young people to enter the teaching profession. Member benefits include insurance and discount purchase programs. A quarterly newsletter Accent Hawaii keeps HEA’s membership informed about the Association’s efforts.
