Services set for former HSTA executive director, George Yamamoto

GEORGE YAMAMOTO Passed from this life on July 20, 2014 at Pali Momi Medical Center. He was born in 1932 in Koloa, Kauai. George was a high school teacher, counselor and principal. He also served as Central and Windward District’s School Superintendent with the Department of Education (DOE), Executive Director for the Hawaii State Teacher’s Association (HSTA), President of the Hawaii Government Employee’s Association (HGEA), Unit 6 President and Director and Negotiating Team Chairman, and Executive Secretary for the Retirees of HGEA. George is survived by wife Sueko “Sue”, son Art, daughter Liz (David) Wentworth and grandson, Palmer. George is also survived by sister Gladys Sallas, brothers Richard (Carol) Yamamoto and Dr. Steven (Doreen) Yamamoto. Services being held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. 5 p.m. visitation and 6 p.m. memorial services.
