Students and Teachers Celebrate Christmas 2014 Reading

University of Hawaii - West Oahu Outreach to Teach

Community Giving.

The Waipahu Public Library sparkled with the excitement of handmade holiday decorations and the magic of a live reading of Sandi Takayama’s The Musubi Man:  Hawaii’s Gingerbread Man on December 13, 2014.  The event was planned by the Student National Education Association at the University of Hawaii at West Oahu and supported by HSTA.  It was the group’s first Christmas Read Aloud.

The UH-West Oahu education majors held a reading program at Kapolei Library in March to promote the love of reading, support West Oahu families, and to give back to the community.

December’s celebration ended with refreshments and raffle prizes.

Mahalo to the families who participated in our event!  Please watch for our next family activity.
