Summer and Fall ELL Courses Available - Free To Teachers

The University of Hawaii is offering four classes designed to help teachers improve the literacy skills of ELLs. The 3-credit, online, PD courses are offered via PDE3 and focus on reading in math and science, science report writing, and using technology to improve literacy in all subjects.

These are intensive, 15-week courses with multiple weekly assignments which include case study implementation of strategies studied on a few ELL students. They cannot be taken fully concurrently with our other courses. Teachers are asked to strongly consider their professional and personal obligations before registering as you must begin the course in week one and attendance should be uninterrupted. Please register only if willing to complete all assignments, including the portfolio.
