Aloha Colleagues,

Thank you for your patience.  By now, all teachers on Lotus Notes should have received the EES Joint HSTA and Department of Education Survey in their school e-mail.  The DOE has committed to working with HSTA to implement an evaluation instrument that serves the teachers and the best interests of our students.

Throughout the year, we have heard about some parts of the EES that are working well in some schools but we are also receiving word that it is not working well in other areas. Teacher feedback is an important part of informing changes to the EES process.  The Lotus Notes e-mail that you received acknowledges that the EES is “a work in progress.”  Therefore, it is important that everyone set aside time to speak up and share what is working and what is not.  If we are going to establish a system that is designed to improve our practice of teaching that results in improved student learning, then it is vital that the voice of teachers be heard by the Joint Committee.

Purpose of the Joint EES Survey:
To quantify teacher experiences and opinions regarding the new teacher evaluation system.

2. You may take the survey at home by forwarding the survey e-mail received at school to your personal or home e-mail.
3. The survey window will close March 11, 2014.
