Wear Red for Education

Support public education by wearing red on Tuesdays

People in Hawaii are joining anyone who supports public education across the nation by wearing red on Tuesdays. Now, more than ever, with attacks on public education happening in states across the country, it's important to show support for schools, students, and teachers.

Wearing red may not solve many of the issues involving public education, but it does unite those who support our schools and ideas they would like to have a voice in, including:

  • Instituting respectful reform that makes sense.
  • Creating a system that provides fair funding, resources, and supports for all schools.
  • Making sure that all students have quality classrooms with safe environments.

What you can do
To help spread the word and participate in the Wear Red for Public Education campaign you can:

  • Change your Facebook profile picture every Tuesday to one of the Wear Red for Ed logos or a picture of yourself wearing red.
  • Tweet about the campaign with the hashtag #WearRedForEd
  • Ask colleagues, family members, and friends to wear red every Tuesday.
  • Send your red pictures to info@hsta.org along with a short description of the group or       the event pictured. Jpgs are best. Mahalo
