On Monday, Jan. 20, the Hawaii State Teachers Association is proud to honor and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his peaceful pursuit of interracial cooperation, equality, and social change.

Oahu

HSTA will participate in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Parade organized by the Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition.

7:30 a.m. Meet at Kapiolani Park, ride the trolley to Magic Island at Ala Moana Regional Park (optional)

8:00 a.m. Gather at Magic Island at Ala Moana Regional Park

9:00 a.m. Parade proceeds down Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park

Our trolley can take a limited amount of people back to Magic Island following the parade.

Maui

HSTA will participate in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Peace March organized by the African Americans on Maui Association.

8:30 a.m. Meet at the MLK Stone of Hope Monument at 200 High St. in Wailuku

9:00 a.m. March down High Street

You are welcome to join HSTA for a delicious breakfast and fellowship after the march.
