Late Tuesday, just as Gov. David Ige announced that Hawaii public schools will remain open, the HSTA received communication that the Hawaii State Department of Education will allow teleworking, and that 12-month teachers can request to work from home.

If you are a 12-month teacher and not on a multi-track, please review the procedures and related documents below, then reach out to your supervisor and discuss your options.

Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in securing a guarantee that employees will automatically be given the telework option this week. If you believe your administrator is unreasonably denying your request to telework, please reach out to your respective UniServ Director for further instructions.
