The Hawaii State Teachers Association has an opening for the Instruction and Professional Development (IPD) specialist position on the island of Oahu and is seeking someone to manage all aspects of the professional development program for the association.

The applicant must be an effective communicator, self-starter and must be able to work independently, with time-sensitive deadlines and pressure, exercising judgment and initiative. The position serves to advance the association’s mission and strategic goals, as well as to support organizing goals at all levels of the association.

This 12-month position has a starting salary of $72,874.

A baccalaureate degree is required. Experience in improving schools and student learning with leadership experience in professional development programming and delivery for both new and experienced teachers preferred. Experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with business and community organizations preferred. Some travel is required.
