The virtual program offers job-embedded, high-value learning opportunities

The Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association, in partnership with 2Revolutions and Spalding University, is offering a new mentoring certificate program to help educators grow their capacity to become effective coaches and leaders to their fellow teachers.

The program, which encompasses five virtual courses, starts in June and runs through January 2026. Participants will earn 15 credits, meeting the requirements for reclassification and work toward a Master’s in Education in Learner-Centered Practices.

Designed by educators, for educators, the courses will help participants build mentorship skills in ways that will have a direct impact on classroom practice and K-12 learner outcomes.

The cohort will use a combination of virtual synchronous and asynchronous learning and will be made up of teachers from Hawaiʻi and the continent. The virtual synchronous sessions will be held on Saturdays at either 9 or 11 a.m.

A previous Hawaiʻi program participant said, “This program has changed me as an educator and as an advocate for change in education. I have learned so much from this program, I have shifted my mindset in so many ways looking at things from a human-centered, equitable lens.”

“I have also made so many friends along the way and we have supported and helped learn from each other new strategies to help our future leaders of Hawaii. This program has made a huge impact on us all,” the 8th grade social studies and special education teacher said.

The cost of the program is $5,745 plus fees. The deadline to apply is April 1.
