Adjustments will be reflected in July 20, Aug. 5 paychecks

Roughly 4,200 members who have HSTA VB medical/prescription drug or dental plans will be seeing adjustments in future paychecks due to an error made by the Hawaii Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund. According to a recent memo, EUTF updated the new total premiums effective July 1, but did not update the new employer and employee splits, resulting in an overcollection from members. This erroneous amount will be reflected in the July 20 paycheck and subsequently corrected in the Aug. 5 paycheck.

“If you experience a plan change (e.g., changing from family to two-party plans) during the period July 16–31, 2021, we will ensure that any over collections related to the August 5th paycheck are properly refunded to you,” the memo stated. “You will be contacted after August 5, 2021 about any additional amounts due to you.”

Letters were mailed to each affected member to explain the situation. If you have any questions or concerns, please call EUTF at (808) 586-7390 ext. 3 or toll-free at (800) 295-0089 ext. 3.
