Gov. Ige releases $185 million toward Hawaii public school improvements

More than $185 million in state funding will go toward Hawaii public school improvements, Gov. David Ige announced Tuesday. The school projects make up more than half of the $365 million the governor released in October for capital improvement projects.

Some of the largest school projects include $114 million for replacement buildings at Mōkapu Elementary in Windward Oʻahu and $23 million to build 10 new classrooms and an Integrated Academy Facility at Waipahu High.
