A special message from HSTA leaders to start the year

Aloha, colleagues!

Welcome to a new school year full of new opportunities and new challenges.

Public education continues to come under attack, and the times we live in have become increasingly chaotic and unaffordable. Throughout it all, Hawaiʻi’s public school educators are always there for our keiki – to protect and nurture them while we do our best to provide the education they deserve with the limited resources provided.

While you work on maximizing the potential of our students, your Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association leaders and staff will continue to advocate at the highest levels to minimize your burdens. We ask you to be an active participant so that your needs can be fully voiced. When surveys come your way, please take them and encourage your colleagues to do the same. When opportunities for action are announced, please join us if you can.

Together, all of us are HSTA, and we need to remain a unified force to maximize our strength when pushing for the schools our keiki deserve.

Mahalo for all you do, and we wish you the very best 2025-26 school year!
