This month, Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum is bringing back two special events that allow Hawaii teachers to preview the museum and its field trip offerings.
You are welcome to attend one day or both! General admission is free with pre-registration.
Parking is $5 for the day and street parking is available.
June 11: Teacher Adventure Day
Welcome to Bishop Museum! Feel free to explore the gallery spaces at your leisure and imagine what fun things your students could discover on a trip to the State Natural and Cultural History Museum!
- Teachers are given general admission for themselves and up to three guests with pre-registration.
- Teachers will be required to show identification (DOE, school ID, paystub, etc.) when they check in at the front desk.
- Additional shows and exhibit access can be purchased at the admissions desk.
June 25: Teacher Field Trip Day
Enjoy a structured experience at the Bishop Museum with an introduction to our field trips and teacher resource, planetarium show preview and Field Trip program demonstrations. For teachers only.
- Teachers are given free general admission.
- Teachers will be required to show identification (DOE, school ID, paystub, etc.) when they check in at the front desk.
Tentative Schedule
- 9:30 a.m.—General field trip and resource overview in Atherton Halau
- 10 a.m.—Planetarium preview shows (10:30am to be added if we have over 75 teachers attend)
- 10:30 a.m.–Noon—Program demos in gallery spaces
- Noon–1 p.m.—Break
- 1–2:30 p.m.—Program demos in gallery spaces
