The talk-story events run from February through May

Over the next few months, the Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association will hold talk-story sessions called Your Voice, Our Union throughout the islands to hear what kinds of improvements members want in our next contract. HSTA’s current contract expires on June 30, 2027, and negotiations for the next contract will begin this fall. Help shape our next bargain! We want to hear from you at these members-only events.
Your HSTA chapter leaders and Negotiations Committee members will gather your unvarnished input at sessions held at various locations and times listed below. They will be held late weekday afternoons and weekends. You are welcome to attend any session at times and locations that are most convenient for you, regardless of which chapter you belong to.
Don’t see sessions scheduled for your chapter? Check back for updates as chapters book venues, and more listings will be added once arrangements are confirmed by HSTA chapter leaders and staff.
Statewide virtual session
Don’t miss one of your last chances this school year to make your voice heard!
A Your Voice, Our Union talk-story session will be held virtually on Wednesday, May 6, at 4:00 p.m.—open to members statewide. This is one of the last opportunities to share your input before the Negotiations Committee begins reviewing and debriefing all the feedback gathered over the past several months.
As we prepare for bargaining our next contract, set to begin this fall ahead of the current agreement’s June 30, 2027 expiration, your perspective is critical in shaping our priorities.
This members-only session is your opportunity to provide honest, unfiltered input directly to HSTA leaders. Make sure your voice is in the room!
