HSTA changes Central Chapter’s name to Oʻahu Wālua Chapter

The Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association has renamed its Central Chapter to Oʻahu Wālua Chapter, reflecting the Hawaiian word for “center” or “middle” after extensive research and community consultation. The change, approved by chapter leaders and members, represents more than 2,100 educators across over 40 schools, with a formal ceremony planned for late July.
