More than 100 community members gathered late last month at Hoa ʻĀina O Mākaha for "Bloom Where You're Planted," an event aimed at supporting families and children in foster and youth services along Oʻahu's Leeward Coast. The event was a collaborative project between the Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association’s Human and Civil Rights Committee and Hoa ʻĀina O Mākaha.
