Institute Day events at HSTA chapters across the state will feature important news about how your union can help you succeed inside and outside the classroom. The theme this year is “You are the union!” Participants are eligible to win iPads and other teacher tools! Mark your calendar for Teacher Institute Day on your island the week of Feb, 12 – 17. As a professional day, it is a work day and teacher attendance is expected. It’s your professional obligation to be there! Click this link for details about Oahu Institute Day – Click here. Oahu teachers: Sign up for free, round-trip bus service from Castle, Kapolei, Mililani and Kahuku High Schools. Click this link to sign up for buses from Mililani, Kapolei, Kaneohe and Kahuku to the Blaisdell Center – Oahu Bus Registration Where to park? Parking with be tight. We strongly encourage you to carpool or take one of the HSTA buses that are available. If you live close to the NBC, walk or take the city bus there. Here are your parking options: 1. $6 flat rate at the Neal Blaisdell Center parking structure (enter off King Street). 2. Free at McKinley High School starting at 6 a.m. (enter off Pensacola Street). Walk through the baseball field gate to NBC. 3. Free at Ala Moana Center. Park on the Atkinson Street side of the mall and look for one of four shuttle buses with HSTA banners at the Atkinson Street terminal, which has a green awning.
