Use the NEA’s free online tool to see if you qualify for loan forgiveness

The clock is ticking to see if you qualify for student loan forgiveness.

And thanks to changes this week by the U.S. Department of Education, 40,000 more borrowers will see immediate forgiveness.

You could be one of them, but you have to act fast. Take advantage of the temporary Public Service Loan Forgiveness waiver by using the NEA’s free online tool to see if you can cut or even erase your monthly payments:

A major overhaul of the federal student loan program under President Joe Biden already slashed billions of dollars in outstanding student loan debt. But the waiver expires Oct. 31.

In Hawaii, more than 600 Hawaii State Teachers Association members have already taken advantage of the Savi Student Debt Navigator. A Maui teacher even had more than $100,000 in loans forgiven!

Here are the benefits you’ll enjoy by using this free tool:

  • Run your numbers at no cost to see if you qualify for student loan repayment or forgiveness programs.
  • Receive a list of relevant debt relief programs based on your situation.
  • Calculate how much money you can save through the tool that’s accessed on your desktop or mobile device.
  • Access student loan experts via telephone or chat.
  • E-file your paperwork to prevent errors and improve your odds of qualifying.
