Ever wonder how laws are made in our state and how much of an impact you have on them?
If you're interested in getting involved or learning more about how the legislative process works, the Public Access Room (PAR) is holding "Your Voice" presentations across the state.
Public access coordinators will help you understand the legislative process, deadlines, and power dynamics at the Hawaii State Capitol, and outline different ways you can participate, including how to effectively navigate capitol.hawaii.gov to find information important to you.
Learn key tips and techniques on effective lobbying, testimony, and communicating with state senators and representatives, and take home helpful handouts, guides, and resources.
Newcomers, seasoned advocates, and everyone in between are welcome to attend!
This month, the PAR will be on Hawaii Island (Sept. 9–13), Maui (Sept. 16–19), and Kauai (Sept. 23–25) as part of its annual outreach. Additional presentations on Oahu, Molokai, and Lanai will be scheduled for later this fall.
