Registration opens Nov. 18 with scholarships, funding support available for Title 1 schools

The Hawaii Nature Center (HNC) is offering a new round of outdoor environmental education school programs for Spring 2022. Programs will be available on Oahu and Maui from January through mid-May with some exceptions, and will provide interactive and engaging environmental education to elementary-age students aligned with Next Generation Science Standards.

Registration opens Thursday, Nov. 18, with scholarships and funding support available for Title 1 schools.

HNC follows all COVID protocols including:

  • Conducting all programs outside
  • 100% staff vaccination rate
  • Mask requirement
  • Additional handwashing stations
  • Social distancing

Oahu

Registration dates: Thursday, Nov. 18, and Friday, Nov. 19, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Call the number(s) listed below each grade level to make your reservation
  • Speak to a live person. Do not leave a voicemail message.
  • Dates are given on a first call, first serve basis.
  • Any reservations left via voicemail will be answered after the registration period listed above.
  • Scholarships and funding support for Title 1 schools will be awarded when you make your reservation.
  • After Nov. 19, email your school reservation request to Education Program Manager Taylor Fujimoto at taylor@hawaiinaturecenter.org.

Additional information:

  • Spring semester begins in January and runs through mid-May, with the exception of the wetland program.
  • Program times listed below include time for lunch, with the exception of preschool.
  • Grade 3 programs will only be offered from February to March 2022.
  • Registration for Fall 2022 programs will take place in May.
