Apply for part-time summer, fall positions

The McKinley Community School for Adults is seeking part-time teachers this summer and fall at their Oʻahu campuses.

Certified teachers will earn $42.16 per hour and non-certified teachers (with a bachelor’s degree) will earn $29.59 per hour. Positions are on a term-to-term basis and certification or a bachelor’s degree is not required, but it is preferred. These are casual hire positions without benefits and pay hourly depending on credentials.

McKinley High School campus:

  • Summer session: Runs now until July 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. four days a week helping adult students earn their GED, or high school diploma equivalency.
  • Fall session: Runs July 17 to Oct. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday teaching English to non-native speakers.
  • Fall session (best for retirees): Runs July 17 to Oct. 5 from 12 to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday helping adult students earn their GED, or high school diploma equivalency.

Moanalua High School campus:

  • Fall session: Day classes: Basic Skills Education Program (BSEP) for active duty military, ELA, Corrections, days and times vary. Evening classes: GED prep, Adult Basic Education (Math & Reading), ELA, and Corrections Education, days and times vary.
