The Hawaii State Teachers Association has an opening for a UniServ Director position located on the island of Oahu.

We are seeking a strong teacher advocate who possesses outstanding skills in providing training, organizing, advocacy, and grievance processing in support of HSTA members employed by the State of Hawaii Department of Education and Public Charter K-12 teachers. 

You must be an effective communicator, self-starter and have the ability to relate to people with diverse cultural backgrounds.

In this position, we are seeking a professional with an understanding of the operations of a labor union, and direct experience in union organizing and program coordination to support the Association’s goals.

This is a year-round position that requires a person who is articulate, a risk-taker, organized and a believer in due process. Some travel is required. Starting salary is $69,550.

A baccalaureate degree is required. Experience in collective bargaining and organizing is desirable.
