Students recognized for courage to share experiences, offer uplifting messages of hope

Mental Health America of Hawaiʻi (MHAH) is honoring five public school students for their courage to share their personal challenges and triumphs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the close guidance of their teachers, students produced personal reflections through PBS Hawaiʻi’s HIKI NŌ program that were shared on-air and online.

“We believe that sharing stories is an essential process for individual and collective healing,” said MHAH Executive Director Bryan Talisayan. “These five students, supported by caring teachers and mentors, had the courage to use this platform to share their intimate stories, creating an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and offer uplifting messages of hope and inspiration.”
