The Hawaii State Teachers Association and Bishop Museum are partnering up for a fall makahiki on Sunday, Oct. 13!
Enjoy a day at the museum exploring one-of-a-kind gallery spaces and special exhibits.
HSTA members, especially new educators, are encouraged to advantage of the opportunity to hear about the museum's field trips and teacher resources, and experience field trip program demonstrations and a planetarium show.
- 9 a.m. Check-in at Atherton Halau
- 9:30 a.m. Welcome
- 10 a.m. Planetarium shows begin
- 11 a.m. Q&A with Bishop Museum education specialists at Atherton Halau, program demonstrations in gallery spaces
- 12:30 p.m. Lunch and presentation at Atherton Halau
- 1:30 p.m. Formal program ends
Members will enjoy complimentary admission to the museum and planetarium show, and a bento lunch from Tanioka's Seafoods and Catering that includes garlic chicken, Korean pork, and furikake rice. A vegetarian option is also available with tofu patties, grilled vegetables, and sweet potato.

HSTA guests receive discounted admission of $10 plus fees that includes a planetarium show and lunch. Each member can bring a maximum of four (4) guests.
As a member, you and your guests will also receive an exclusive discounted price ($2.95) to the touring exhibit, "Travelling Bricks: An Exhibition Made of LEGO Bricks." Tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the event.
Attendees will also receive complimentary parking. Once you enter the main gate, follow the signs to HSTA's designated parking area and request a parking code during check-in.
